1. The Reality of Early Retirement

Retiring at 40 sounds awesome until you realize that all of your friends are still working for another 20 years and you’ve started getting increasingly into birdwatching. Seriously, that’s a bird.

2. Hating Meaningless Work

Most people do not hate working; they hate meaningless work. What you actually want isn’t freedom from work; it’s freedom from meetings that should have been emails.

3. Rethinking Your Goals

The FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) movement taught us to save aggressively but forgot to teach that you can also design a life you don’t want to escape from in the first place. The goal is not to retire early; it’s to stop living for the weekends. And you can do that right now.
